Bloomex Flowers for Top 5 Personality Types

If you are looking to send a gift, flowers are always a lovely idea! When it comes to deciding what to send, the options are vast. How do you choose?

Apart from the usual considerations of occasion, location, budget, and general likes and dislikes, consider the recipient’s personality type! Matching flowers to someone’s general personality profile can result in an even happier recipient.

Take a few moments and think about the person you are sending the flowers to. Think about their hobbies, interests, how they dress, their home décor choices, and the way they interact with others. Are they outgoing and splashy, or quiet and shy? Do they like to hike, bike, and be outdoors? Do they wear or decorate with a lot of traditionally feminine colours, like pinks and lavenders, or do they prefer bolder shades and patterns? Do they keep décor modern and minimal, or traditional and layered?

Here are our suggestions for 5 most common personality profiles:

The Outdoorsy Type; A rustic, down-to-earth person who enjoys the great outdoors. Like natural fabrics and earthy colours, and enjoys being active.

Remember, whatever you choose, you really can’t go wrong! Your recipient will be thrilled to get a gorgeous bouquet or a beautiful, lush plant. It’s really the time you took and the thought you are expressing that makes the final impact.

Flower of the Month: Delphinium

It should be no surprise that the official flower of July is the bold and beautiful Delphinium. They’re fun, bright and add drama to any bouquet! Known to some as Larkspur, they come in a beautiful variety of purple and indigo shades. This is definitely a flower to check out!

There are over 400 different types of Delphinium species, some species sap can be mixed with the chemical, alum, to make blue ink. Delphinium plants and seeds are very poisonous to both humans and animals and, if consumed, can lead to severe illness, paralysis and even death. Despite their more dangerous qualities, Delphiniums used to be used for improving asthma symptoms, in the correct quantities.

When you receive a beautiful bouquet of delphinium, the stems need to be cut on an angle to help them drink more effectively. The water needs to be changed and new plant food added every couple of days. These beautiful blooms do best in a shady spot with cooler temperatures.

Sweet and Traditional

If you receive beautiful roses or a bouquet of sweet mixed blooms such as carnations, alstroemeria and adorable daisies, consider setting them in a pretty tea pot. If you are hosting a brunch you could even consider taking the bouquet apart, trimming the stems, and displaying your flowers on a vintage cake stand. A cake display, a cookie jar, a pitcher, anything you can make watertight is an option.

Modern Elegance

For bouquets with a more modern edge, such as a monochromatic display of lilies or a mix of daisies, roses and gerberas. Get creative with clear plastic boxes, simple rectangular containers that have clean lines, and consider containers with metallic finishes such as gold or silver.

Boho Chic

If you love “shabby chic” design, displaying your bouquet in a watering can, tin pail, bird cage or bucket is a great way to reinforce your theme. Hydrangeas and daisies would be well suited to this kind of look. In the spring, even a pair of pretty rain boots makes a creative container!

Divide and Conquer

Another wonderful way to display your flowers is to separate the bouquet into a series of smaller bud vases, wine glasses, tea cups or anything else that appeals to you. The best flowers for this would be spray roses or gerberas.

Edible Inspiration

Another kitchen-inspired way to display your flowers involves using food items. Set a smaller vase, a watertight, cleaned-out soup can, or any other watertight container inside a watermelon or pumpkin and you have instant “wow” factor! Add slices of lemon or lime to a clear vase, pitcher or other clear container to add a designer look to your bouquet for a low budget. Any bright vibrant blooms would work best for this design!

Don’t be afraid to think outside the box! A quick search around your kitchen or home can yield amazing new ways to make your flowers fit your taste and personality, and amplify the beauty of your bouquet.
